Lucas has a new obsession. He loves to "kiss the baby." He runs up to me and says "kiss baby, Lucas kiss baby" every day and precedes to kiss my belly. It's so stinkin cute! :) We have another appointment tomorrow to see how things are progressing and to listen to the little ones heartbeat again. I can't wait! It seems like the month in between appointments takes FOREVER! We have a 3D ultrasound scheduled for the 20th and we are hoping to find out the sex of the baby then.... We haven't decided if we're going to tell anyone yet though. So STAY TUNED! :)

The purging of facebook....*gasp*!
Well, after much thought, i've decided to try and purge parts of my life from facebook. I know, I can hear everyone gasping in shock. I find I spend far to much of my time looking at facebook and posting on facebook when my time could be better spent elsewhere doing other things. SO, we're starting small....i've deleted recieving e-mail notifications as well as recieving text updates. Next up, wait for it..... physically not going on facebook for a period of time.... Wish me luck!

Life Unexpected
Well, on August 15th we got quite the shock....we are expecting baby #2! We are very excited but it was definitely not planned. I guess life has a way of working itself out.
Lucas is 2 and a half already! He's growing like a weed and puts the energizer bunny to shame. :) He's what we describe as "active"....and for those of you who see him regularly, that's an understatement!
Since my last post we have had quite the busy schedule. Lucas is in daycare full time, i'm back to work now that summer is over and Riley is still working a million jobs. Oh yeah and i'm finishing grad school this semester!! I'm not sure what i'll do with all that extra time from January until the baby arrives.....but i'm sure i'll find something to fill my time.
Lucas went as a mini staff sergeant for Halloween and his uniform matched Boppa's pretty closely. It was SO cute!
Riley just finished coaching another season of football and is already I think planning for next season! He made a really big decision this fall and has decided not to coach summer legion ball this year. It will be so nice to have him home more with two little ones and Cash. Plus we'll have more time for family travel! And you all know how I get the travel bug!! :)
My friend Tara and I recently did a 7 state road trip in 31 hours. We hit all 7 states in about 25 and a half hours! It was a lot of fun and I think we're going to try and make it a yearly thing with picking different routes.
I will graduate with my masters degree in counseling in December. I don't plan on becoming a licensed counselor however. I absolutely love my job and can't imagine doing anything else. Although some days I wish I could have five uninterupted minutes to catch my breath... Middle school kids keep you busy!
As for the new addition....I feel pretty strongly that I know the sex of the baby already, but we won't know for another month. I can already feel him/her moving which is fun. I can't wait until the first time Lucas feels him/her kick....
Well, I think that's enough of an information overload for now! Hopefully I can get better at posting to keep everyone up to date on the Stejskal household and our new addition!

Has another year really gone by already??
Where does the time go?! It's been over a year since my last post and A LOT has happened in that time. Lucas is going to be TWO in 2 weeks! I can't believe it! My baby isn't a baby anymore, he's a little man. He's running, talking, climbing, getting into trouble and constantly testing our patience! :) He is so much fun though! He loves his puppy Cash. They play together all the time and Cash definitely misses him when he's gone.
In June I was in a terrible car accident and suffered a closed head injury among other injuries. I'm finally starting to feel like myself again but I still struggle with multi-tasking. Which is really frustrating, because I used to be the multitasking queen!
I'm finishing up my 4th year with the Rochester school district as a social worker and I still love my job! I'm also currently in grad school at Winona State getting my masters degree in counseling. I will graduate in December and am ready to be done! At some point I do hope to get my PhD but that will have to wait for a few more years.
Riley is still as busy as ever. Still working the lawn mowing business, snow removal, fastenal, coaching and now adding another part time job to his list! Crazy, I know. He takes Lucas to daycare everyday and they get lots of bonding time on Wednesday and Thursday nights while I am at class.

Almost a year already! :)
Wow, where does the time go??!! My baby is going to be a year old in just a little over a month! He has five teeth right now and is cutting more as we speak (poor little guy is really crabby because of it). He's had two haircuts already and needs a third before his birthday! He's been crawling for quite some time now as well as pulling himself up to standing and furniture surfing. His latest thing is standing on his own without holding onto anything. So walking probably isn't to far off...SCARY!

Surgery a success
Well, surgery on Monday went great. They took him from us at 7:35 and by 7:55 I was holding him again!! We were home by 9:45 and by 10 he was chasing Cash around with his walker. So all in all things went well. On that note however, we did have to go to the Dr. today and they found he has thrush. Not much to do about that but take the antibiotics. It isn't contagious and should clear up in 6-8 days. He only has two days left at daycare and then Riley will be a stay at home dad for a few months. Unfortunately that will mean Riley will be working 2nd shift at Fastenal Sunday through Wednesday. We're hoping that by me starting grad school next month that we'll move up the waiting list at Winona State's daycare center.

Santa on the move
Well, it's been a busy couple of weeks since our last entry. Lucas is 8 months old! We can't believe it either. He's growing and changing so much! He's been eating baby food for quite a while now but this last week we added finger foods! We got him these banana puffs and baby rice cake things and he absolutely loves them. He's moved on to third foods so the next step is gerber graduates already!!
Last night we took Lucas to see the lighted Holiday train. He was intrigued by it. He couldn't stop staring at all the lights, but I think it was a little loud for him. We weren't able to stay very long either, it was pretty cold out. After the lighted train we took Lucas to meet Santa for the first time. He did pretty good. Sat on Santas lap for about 30 seconds before he started to get scared and a little fussy. The look on his face was priceless. He kept looking at Santa like "wow, what the heck are you!" It was very cute!
Tomorrow night he's going to spend the night with Grandma and Grandpa Krause. Riley and I are going to have a winter bonfire for our birthdays. I'm looking forward to a full night of uninterupted sleep but I have a feeling i'll wake up several times worrying about Lucas. Even though I obviously trust his grandparents completely, this will be his first overnight away from home. I haven't been away from him for more than a few hours since he was born!
Well, we'll post again after his surgery! Wish the little guy luck! :)
